Privacy Policy
Effective July 27, 2026. (Updated to describe the Google Analytics measurement now in use.) Angel’s Kare Nursing Agency (“Angel’s Kare,” “we,” “us”) is a family-owned home care agency providing in-home nursing and senior care across the Greater Toronto Area. This policy explains what personal information and personal health information we collect, why, and how we protect it.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to information collected through angelskare.ca (the “website”) and through the process of arranging and delivering home care services (assessment calls, intake forms, care plans, visit notes, and ongoing communication with your family). Angel’s Kare provides care directly — we are not a marketplace or referral platform connecting you to third-party providers; the caregivers and nurses who visit your home are our own screened staff.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including:
- Contact details — name, phone number, email address, and city or area, submitted through our contact form, care quiz, or careers application.
- Care-related information — who care is for, the concern that brought you to us, urgency, funding or insurance program details, and any notes you choose to share. Once care begins, this expands to include personal health information relevant to the care plan: medical history, medications, mobility, cognitive status, and clinical visit notes prepared by our care managers and nurses.
- Employment information — for caregivers and nurses applying through our careers page: name, contact details, role, experience, city, and work eligibility.
- Website usage information — standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited), plus aggregate Google Analytics usage data as described in the cookies and analytics section below. We do not run advertising tracking. Analytics never receives personal health information, quiz answers, or contact details.
3. Why we collect it, and your consent
We collect this information to respond to your enquiry, assess and arrange care, deliver and document care, bill funding programs on your behalf where applicable, process caregiver applications, and communicate with you about your family’s care. Submitting a form on our website is your consent for us to contact you about that enquiry. Consent to collect and use personal health information for care delivery is confirmed separately, in person, before care begins, as required under Ontario law.
4. Personal health information & PHIPA
Where we collect, use, or disclose personal health information in the course of providing care, we do so in accordance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). This means: health information is used only for the purposes of providing and coordinating your family’s care, is shared only with the caregivers, nurses, and care managers directly involved in that care (and with funding programs such as HCAI, WSIB, or IFHP where you have asked us to bill them), and is never disclosed for marketing purposes. You have the right to access and request correction of the health records we hold about you.
5. PIPEDA & general personal information
For personal information outside a health care context (such as website form submissions, general contact details, and job applications), we follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA): we collect only what is reasonably needed, use it only for the purpose stated at collection, and do not sell personal information to third parties.
6. How information is stored and who processes it
Website form submissions are transmitted directly to a private Google Sheet, using a Google Apps Script endpoint that can only add new entries — it cannot read back, edit, or delete existing records, and the sheet itself is never made public. Our website is hosted on Vercel. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and do not use your information for their own purposes. Care records and clinical documentation are held separately, in line with our internal record-keeping practices for regulated health information.
7. Cookies & analytics
This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how people find and move through the site. It is not used for advertising, and we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking pixels.
What it collects: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address (city level, not precise), device and browser type, referring website, and a small set of interaction events — for example that a call button was tapped, or that the care quiz was started, reached its result, or was submitted. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and similar) to tell repeat visits apart.
What it never collects: your answers to the care quiz, your name, phone number, email address, anything typed into the notes field, or any health information. The quiz records only which numbered step was reached, never what was chosen. This is enforced in the site’s code by an explicit allow-list of permitted events, so a future change cannot send an answer by accident.
Declining: you can block these cookies in your browser settings, use Google’s official opt-out browser add-on, or browse in a private window. None of it affects your ability to use the site, contact us, or receive care.
8. Retention
We retain contact form and enquiry information only as long as needed to respond to you or, if you become a client, as part of your care record. Care records and clinical documentation are retained in accordance with applicable Ontario regulatory requirements for home care providers. Job application information is retained only as long as needed to consider your application, unless you ask us to keep it on file for future opportunities.
9. How we protect your information
We limit access to personal and health information to the care manager, nurses, and caregivers directly involved in your family’s care. Our website submission endpoint is append-only and protected by a shared secret token, so it cannot be used to read or alter existing records. We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect information against unauthorized access, but no online system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
You may ask us, at any time, to: access the personal information or personal health information we hold about you; correct information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete; or withdraw consent for us to continue using your information, subject to legal or contractual limits (for example, we may need to retain certain records for regulatory compliance even after a withdrawal request). To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 13.
11. Email & electronic communication (CASL)
If you provide your email address, we may use it to respond to your enquiry or communicate about care already arranged. We will only send you promotional or marketing email if you have given express consent, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and every such email will include a way to unsubscribe.
12. Children’s information
Our website and services are directed at adults arranging care for themselves or a family member. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Where a client’s care plan involves a minor (for example, a dependent with complex needs), that information is collected from and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and handled under the same PHIPA safeguards described above.
13. Contact us & complaints
Questions, requests, or concerns about this policy or how we handle your information can be sent to info@angelskare.ca or (437) 997-0002. If you believe we have not properly addressed a privacy concern, you have the right to complain to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (regarding personal health information) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (regarding general personal information).
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent update.
This policy was prepared to accurately describe our current data practices but has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. We recommend professional legal review before this is treated as final.
